Quick Checks: - Verify airflow: clean filters, coils, blower wheel - Clear outdoor coil and confirm proper clearance - Confirm service valves open and system properly evacuated - Check standing pressure vs. outdoor temp (PT chart) - Inspect wiring and board installation - all screws installed and tight - Check compressor resistance (U-V, U-W, V-W should be equal) - Test windings to ground (should be infinite resistance) Restart & Observe: - No amp draw on a leg = main board failure - Amp draw on all legs but no start = seized compressor - Runs but trips H5 = check charge, restrictions, airflow, piping, or thermistors - Always identify the root cause before compressor replacement.
