Greed: Main Theme
This is the Main Theme from Greed, also known as "Greed: The Series". This game show was hosted by Chuck Woolery and ran on Fox, usually on Fridays. And it came on reruns on GSN (Game Show Network). First they had six players and they would start with the qualifying question, and they would have to be as close to the correct answer as high or low as they can. And whoever had the longest distance away from the correct answer would be eliminated. The other five would make the team. NOTE: The Qualifying Question was not used in Super Greed After the team has been formed, they play for up to eight questions for the top prize of $2 Million ($4 Million in Super Greed). The first four questions contained one correct answer and of those, the first two would have four possible answers and the next two would have five possible answers. The last four questions contained four correct answers adding one new answer with each new question. The game show had a common foe, known as "The Tower of Greed". Question 1 was worth $25,000; later in $25K increments, they would continue up to the $100,000 level. Question 5 was worth double that amount, then Question 6 was worth a half million dollars. That money would be doubled at $1 Million for Question 7 and finally doubled again at $2 Million. In Super Greed, the $500,000 level was removed and the $4 Million level was added putting the other $1M and $2M values for Questions 6 and 7, respectively. If a correct answer (first four questions) or three correct answers (last four questions) were given, the Team Captain would have the option to keep playing and risk all their money OR leave with what they won. But if a wrong answer is given at any point during the game, the team would lose everything won and leave with nothing. Also in the game, after the first four questions, there is a Terminator in which randomly select a player to optionally eliminate another player and win $10,000 whether they won or lost on the Terminator Question. If they pick someone, then it's a face off. The player who comes up with the correct answer stays in the game and eliminates his/her opponent. But a wrong answer or running out of time will eliminate himself/herself from the game. After the Terminator is over, then play resumes with the question. However, if the player who was randomly selected says no, then nobody leaves and play resumes with the question. Also in the game, after Question 4, there is a Freebie, which can optionally be used to eliminate one wrong answer, which may be helpful in answering the harder questions. Only one contestant, Daniel Avila, made it to the eighth question but lost it all on only one wrong answer. The highest amount won was $2 Million on a seventh question during Super Greed. No one ever made it to the $4 Million level. In earlier episodes of Greed, for every team that failed to win the $2 Million jackpot, the amount would increase by $50,000. This happened up until the jackpot was $2,550,000. After that, play resumed with just $2M.
