Grooming Shears Conundrum
In this video I go over a set of 4 grooming shears — all straight, not curved. Most grooming shears have serrations on one blade, and if they’re in good shape, I don’t touch that part. The shear I worked on here had a couple of challenges: 1️⃣ The clicker plate wasn’t seated properly, which meant the tension couldn’t be set right. 2️⃣ The tip of the blade looked bent and out of alignment. This is where discretion and experience come into play. Do I risk trying to bend and realign the blade, not knowing the exact metal and possibly breaking it? Or do I sharpen carefully and get it cutting as best as possible without risking damage? Sharpening isn’t just about grinding metal — it’s about making judgment calls that balance sharpness, alignment, and longevity of the tool. ✂️ Double Edge Sharpening – Giving You the Edge 👍 If you found this video helpful, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and hit the bell so you don’t miss future sharpening tips and demos!
