GUGUS! With GUGUS!, Rebecca Weingartner completes her trilogy of dance pieces for young audiences. While EQUALITY! explored non-discriminatory coexistence between the sexes and SOLIDARITY! celebrated societal diversity, this final piece offers an unconventional take on the concept of freedom. Drawing inspiration from the Dada movement—a 20th-century artistic rebellion against logic, reason, and capitalist values—the performance delves into themes of freedom of expression, liberation from societal pressures to perform, and the joy of embracing playfulness and absurdity. Featuring the two circus artists Demian Bucci and Guilhèm Charrier in extravagant costumes, the piece defies gravity as they take flight, morph into fantastical beings, and transcend the mundane rules of growth and self-improvement. "Gugus" is a Swiss German term meaning both "hello" and „nonsense“. ***************************************** GUGUS! Après EQUALITY! qui explorait la coexistence non discriminatoire entre les genres, et SOLIDARITY! qui célébrait la diversité sociale, cette dernière création propose une interprétation inédite et joyeusement subversive de la liberté. Inspirée par le mouvement Dada -rébellion artistique du XXe siècle contre la logique, la raison et les contraintes capitalistes- GUGUS! aborde avec légèreté et audace des thèmes essentiels: se libérer des injonctions à la performance et retrouver la joie simple de se livrer au jeu et à l’absurde. Sur scène, les circassiens Demian Bucci et Guilhèm Charrier, en costumes extravagants, défient les lois de la gravité. Ils s’envolent, se métamorphosent en êtres fantastiques, et invitent le public à s’affranchir, avec eux, des idéaux de dépassement et de perfection de soi. «Gugus» est un terme suisse-allemand qui signifie à la fois «bonjour» et «absurdité».
