Hands Not Mine
✨ Hello, My Awesome YouTube Family! 🍂 Today, I share a story that speaks directly to my heart. You’ll find a more detailed description of the video below, but I want to say this upfront: I see myself in the husband of this story. Too often, I talk too much and try to fix every problem, when what’s really needed is silence, patience, and presence. Not every burden is mine to solve. Sometimes the greatest gift we can give is simply to listen, to let someone vent, and to surround them with love. My hope is that this story and video will be a blessing to anyone who needs that reminder. Peace and Love Always! Freddy 🕊️🌿❤️🙏✌️ ---------------------------------------- Hands Not Mine This emotional family story takes place in the Appalachian Mountains during the fall. Freddy is a dad who works from home and homeschools his daughter Hannah and takes care of their beautiful mountain home. He keeps their life steady with daily walks on the trails, lessons, trips to museums, and even time working on his ’69 Camaro. His wife Audrey, however, is a successful professor and administrator at a university. Her career is demanding, with long commutes, heavy workloads, and endless responsibilities that often leave her drained. One day, after a series of setbacks, including traffic, overwhelming meetings, her classes, and physical exhaustion, Audrey comes home at her breaking point. Hannah is eager to share her day, but Audrey is too stressed to listen, unintentionally hurting her daughter’s feelings. Freddy tries to comfort and “fix” things as he always does, but his well-meaning words only fuel the tension. The two get into a heated argument that boils over until Hannah breaks down, crying and begging them to stop fighting because she loves them both. That moment shakes Freddy and Audrey to the core. Realizing the harm their anger caused, they embrace Hannah and each other, choosing love, compassion, and forgiveness over conflict. From then on, they commit to facing life’s struggles together with peace, respect, and gratitude. The story closes with the family hiking happily through the autumn trails, showing that even in life’s storms, love can bring healing and joy. -- Lyrics I held your sorrow like it was mine Spoke too soon, crossed that line Tried to fix what I didn’t understand With trembling heart and clumsy hands You looked for silence, I gave you speech Your pain was a place I couldn’t reach Still I waded in, too deep, too fast Tryna save what was never asked Oh Lord, teach me to stay When there’s nothin’ kind to say Let me be the stillness, not the storm Let love be quiet, soft and warm Not every cry is mine to heal Not every wound is mine to feel I’m just a soul walkin’ beside The hurting ones with hands not mine You cried in colors I couldn’t name I tried to paint over your pain But healing don’t come from borrowed light It rises slow in its own time I’ve spoken truth when I should’ve prayed Offered gold when grace was made Now I’m learning how to just be near To carry presence more than fear Oh Lord, teach me to stay When there’s nothin’ kind to say Let me be the stillness, not the storm Let love be quiet, soft and warm Not every cry is mine to heal Not every wound is mine to feel I’m just a soul walkin’ beside The hurting ones with hands not mine Mercy ain’t a fix, it’s a firelight A shelter in the blackest night I don’t have to mend every tear Sometimes just showin’ up is prayer Oh Lord, teach me to stay When my words just get in the way Let me be the stillness, not the storm Let love be quiet, soft and warm Not every cry is mine to heal Not every wound is mine to feel I’m just a soul walkin’ beside The hurting ones with hands not mine
