Royal Purple Steering Fluid saves the day
installed a Boregenson steering shaft on the 1982 Mercury Capri. ran into clearance issues with the bbk 1516 long tube headers. the steering was real stiff with the new shaft. pump is new.
so I sucked out the generic fluid
poured in royal purple
with front tires elevated turn the wheel bump to bump (gets air out)
add more fluid to compensate for the air.
night n' day difference. the entire operation of the steering is where I want it. no leaks either as that was a concern due to the rack in the car is from a 88 gt
