HDF DOORS!

HDF doors! Which one is better for paint grade doors? One piece HDF doors or Two piece HDF doors? I’ve done both and I’m here to tell you that I think the two piece hdf doors are the way to go. Typically with one piece hdf doors you have a higher potential to run into issues. Issues like excessive sanding to remove any CNC lines. More sanding trying to eliminate swirl marks from trying to remove the CNC lines. Depending on your climate and location in the world, some may deal with warping as soon as the CNC is finished cutting or overnight if you major temperature fluctuations between day and night. The down side to cutting two pieces hdf doors is having to use more material to create the doors. Because now you will basically be buying twice the material. You will be buying sheets of 3/4 inch and 1/2” hdf instead of only using 3/4 inch. But as far as the piece of mind you have from your doors not warping and the saved time on sanding.
