A foldable 3D printed hexagon box? Yes — and it actually works!
In this video I’m showing my new Hexagon Folding Box: a lightweight, rigid and surprisingly strong little storage box that prints flat and folds into shape. The design has an unusual hexagonal form and comes in two separate parts:
Plate 1: Main container
Plate 2: Matching lid
The box is only two layers high, which makes it a very quick print, but once folded it becomes impressively stiff and stable.
The model comes in two versions:
• Bambu Lab A1 Mini version
• Larger Bambu Lab A1 version
It’s a fun little print for anyone who likes clever print-in-place/foldable designs, practical containers, unusual shapes, or just wants to see how far you can push a flat 3D print.
Perfect for small parts, desk items, craft supplies, gifts, or just as a satisfying “wait… that folds into a box?” kind of print.
