Making your own RJ45 ethernet cable is pretty easy.
It will only last for a few minutes with the right tool and a basic skill.
If you're planning to put a rubber plug boots, you must insert it on the cable before crimping the RJ45.
It will serve as a protection of the RJ45 connectors. Even if you put a rubber boots or not, the cable will remain functional.
Having no plug boots is okay as long as you will not plug and unplug it frequently on the device it's connected on.
