Doubles, the most popular Trinidad street food, is now sought after by Trinbagonians at home and around the globe. Doubles consist of two (or more) bara, channa and condiments. This video details how to make bara for doubles.
The ingredients for the bara are:
3 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp yeast
1/4 tsp turmeric
1 cup water
oil
This recipe made 24 bara. Fry each for 2 seconds on either side and again on the first side. Serve with channa and your favourite condiments.
