How to setup the totalizing function on a magnetic flow meter

In this video, you will learn how to use the pushbuttons and display to navigate the programming menu of the totalizing function on the SM magnetic flow meter from ifm. The SM series magmeter is an inline flow meter that detects the flow rate of conductive media up to 160 gpm. This one sensor can provide flow rate, total flow, and temperature measurements via IO-Link technology. The LED display provides easy visualization of what is happening in the pipe, and the IO-Link connection allows you to send multiple process values to higher level software for additional visualization, historical recordkeeping, and value trending. This industrial magmeter is commonly used to monitor beer during all stages of the brewing process, regardless of brewery size, since it is easy to scale with brewery operations. It is also great for monitoring cooling water of industrial equipment, welding processes, furnaces, and die casting. Certain models offer settings for chemical dosing and control of inlet and outlet water volume on test stands. In the wastewater industry, the SM magmeter is commonly found in applications where polymers are used to separate solids from water. The solid state flow principles do not have mechanical pieces that can break or stick with solids flowing through the pipe.
