CNC machining the parts for the MIT Hyperloop 2 Shell mold. First up: routing the "egg-crate" pieces from single sheets. Then comes gluing up and cutting the blocks for the machined surfaces. Some corners were cut! This was all designed to be as fast and inexpensive as possible using the machines my friends would let me borrow. For more on this part of the process, check out the article at Explore Composites: https://explorecomposites.com/articles/tooling/mithyperloop-tooling/ Thanks to Darya at Canapitsit Customs: https://www.canapitsitcustoms.com/ ...and Rob at Triton Fendering Systems: http://www.tritonfenderingsystems.com/ for cutting sheets for me (Darya) and lending me (Rob) your machines!
