When the voice over a phone is the only thing grounding you. As reality fractures and falls away, we reach for anything that reminds us we’re not alone. In this world, human emotion collides with the coldness of technology. The messages that travel theough cables and circuits carry both our tenderness and our pain. A photograph. A call. A last message. Machines carry our words, but it is our humanity that gives them meaning. This piece moves through memory, the hurt of leaving home, people and the quiet grief of distance, the strange comfort of connection made through static and pixels. Technology has given us the power to travel, to reach across distances we once thought impossible. The world I created is both real and fragile, a place where technology delivers both heartbreak and healing. My only wish is that, in this piece, each person finds a fragment of themselves, a reminder than even through technology we are able to connect no matter the distance. For my mom.
