Insect Structure, Function and Metamorphosis

Students will learn the three types of metamorphosis: gradual, incomplete and complete, and see examples of sinsects in each group. Then students will explore the basic structure of insects, including the exoskeleton, antennae, eyes, mouthparts, leg parts, digestive and reproductive tracts. Also, see effective examples of insect defenses, such as high reproductive rates, camouflage, mimicry, and spines.
