Introduction to Spreadsheets
A spreadsheet is made up of cells, organized by columns and rows. Columns are identified by letters, and rows are identified by numbers. The intersection of a row and a column is the cell’s address. Cells can be referenced as part of mathematical calculations. Whether you are keeping a budget, creating an invoice, or formatting a financial report, spreadsheets make it easy to work with different kinds of data. In this short video you will get introduced to spreadsheets and look at some of the similarities and differences between spreadsheets and word processing systems. This video was created in relation to the Utah State CTE standards for the Business Office Specialist High School course. Specifically, this video prepares students to complete Strand 2, Standard 2: Identify and navigate through common software application screen components.
