The rabbis could not outwit Jesus nor could they stop His Christian ministry so they sought to kill him, i.e., murder him. Not a nice religious community in Judea at this time ... But at least the Judeans followed Jesus and believed on him. They said, how can this man not be the Christ [Messiah] with all a miracles that he is performing? It has to be him. but even more striking is that he came on the exact date that Daniel prophesied in the 69th week of years prophecy (read Dan. 9:24-27; and especially v. 26) where it mentions the Messiah shall be cut-off (crucified) at that time.
