Sharing something I've been collecting in my stash & what I use it for! Talking about... *About #Stashcast (#Stashcast is one of my podcast segments where I share what's in my art/intuitive stash. I'll tell you what it is, what it's used for & how, why I bought it, & what I've done with it so far (in the case that I've worked with it)! This is partially for your education, but also to share ideas & inspiration. It also lets you see "inside of the mind of the artist", which is one of my main goals & intentions here!) *What I've Stashed (So what I mean to share today...I can't seem to find. The funny this is that I can mentally place the things, like I can SEE them in my mind, I know precisely what the things look like. But for whatever reason I can't find them...it's the thread stash I have, albeit a very small one, for bobbin lace. It consists of 2 spools of size 80 - black and white, 2 size 12 - also in black and white, a size 20 in pink and another in blue, then some blue yarn that I thought could look fun done up in bobbin lace...yet all but the fun yarn, the pink, and the larger black thread I can't seem to find.) *Where I got it (I've gotten things from A.C. Moore - which is now since closed, possibly Michaels, Snow Goose Lace and one of the local yarn shops, the Knitting B - if I'm recalling them all correctly.) *What it's used for in general (The smallest thread, the size 80 is used for bobbin lace - but really can be used for all kinds of things as can all the other sizes. In theory any and all materials can be used for anything so long as the tools match.) *What I'm using it for (I've chosen to get these threads specifically for bobbin lace - but it also means any of the other fibers I have may eventually be utilized thusly!) *What I've done with it so far (I have some samples I made in class with threads I can't say that I even have past the class itself. Then a design I made itself in the smallest thread, and another test in the largest - though it doesn't work as well with the thicker thread on the grid at the size I used.) ***Today's Questions: Do you have any bobbin lace thread in your stash? What do you make your bobbin lace with? Do you bobbin lace at all? Have you worked with any before? If so, how did you like it & for what project did you use it? (Drop a comment below I'd love to hear from you!)*** So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye!
