I recorded the solo first using the new and brilliant Keeley Electronics Noble Screamer into a Mesa Boogie Fillmore 25 head running into a Suhr IR Reactive Load (G12M Greenbk 412 C R-121 Balanced Celestion) with both of the Noble Screamer toggles up (image shown four seconds into the video), playing along only to an eight-bar drum loop on well trodden blues paths (apologies sort of to guitarists for whom blues riffs are tired and clichéd) in the key of D, because D seems green to me. After that, I laid down the rhythm track with the pedal bypassed (then added bass and bedazzled the midi drums with variation). So the rhythm you're hearing is the base tone and volume, the squeaky clean pristine point from which the Noble is lifting everything. It's an excellent pedal through and through. The solo is recorded with delay; there is no processing in the DAW (with the faders at unity) other than standard UAD Luna plugins--Vision Console, Studer A800s--to emulate a console/tape-machine based studio.
