LabVIEW Tutorial #11: Example V MD basis weight

Basis weight in MD (Machine Direction) is a function of the paper machine speed, stock inflow rate and the consistency of the stock at the head box. Regarding the above, please design a control system of a paper machine with the following characteristics: • Constant inflow of 40 000 m3/min • Paper machine width (=paper web width) equals 8 m • Dry content of the paper web at the end of the web is 95% • Consistency at headbox is between 0.5-1.5% • Paper machine speed between 500-1500 m/min The consistency and paper machine speed should be numeric controls. The output (the average MD basis weight) should be a graph indicator (waveform chart).
