Benefits
Build strength and co ordination in leg musculature and develop ankle durabilty. Great way to incorporate plyometrics important for jumping, sprinting and changing direction. Increasing height as a progression.
Coach Cues
Starting on outside of a ladder, proceed to jump laterally 2-3 times. Focus on keeping the body centered over the knee and not bending from the torso sideways. Can alter the jump from slower and controlled to faster with shorter ground contact time. Progress to the player completing the jumps with a football in their hand then accelerate out and kick.
