Layer Maker: Spatial Relationships

Spatial relationships in Layer connect items based on their position in the model. In this video, you will learn how spatial relationships automatically relate model elements like furniture, doors, and windows to the rooms they are associated with. We walk through how to create spatial relationship fields, select model categories, and understand how these relationships work in both directions. You will see how to view the room a piece of furniture belongs to, how to see all furniture and doors inside a room, and how spatial relationships reflect real model conditions, including cases where elements relate to more than one room. This lesson also shows how to look up additional data across spatial relationships, including nested information such as product data and cut sheets connected to model instances. This video focuses specifically on spatial relationships. Manual and automatic relationships are covered in separate lessons.
