Layout on a printed sheet when generating variable data
The VDP manager plugin allows you to not only prepare variable data and insert them into the template file, but also to layout the final file on a printed sheet. In the Result tab of the project, you can specify the need to perform a layout and select the size of the printed sheet. If the list of papers sizes is empty, you can fill it with standard values or enter the desired size manually. When laying out, you can specify the presence of crop marks, as well as bleed between individual jobs and outside along the outer boundaries of the print. By default, the layout is performed in stacks, that is, the finished print run can be cut, stacked one on top of the other and get the correct numbering sequence in the print run. This placement order is most convenient in most cases. If necessary, you can set sequential numbering within the boundaries of one sheet. You can also control the direction of entries when placing jobs on a printed sheet - from left to right or from top to bottom. This option adds flexibility to the layout management and makes it possible to get the desired order of records. The plugin also allows you to set additional options for multi-page templates, if some pages of the template should be printed on a reverse side of the printed sheet. The order of pages which are specified as reverse will have the opposite order of data substitution in comparison with the front side pages. This will allow you to correctly align the front and back sides of a single job. You can additionally specify a 180-degree rotation of the station for the back, if this is required for correct layout and alignment of the front with the back. Extensive capabilities for managing the layout of generated jobs with variable data on the finished printed sheet allow you to prepare the job for printing as quickly as possible, eliminating unnecessary operations that take a lot of time.
