Psalm 19 Movement I — Shamayim (Psalm 19:1–6) [verse] The shamayim declare the glory of God The firmament shows forth the work of His hands Day to day pours out its speech And night to night reveals its knowledge There is no speech and there are no words No voice among them can be heard And yet their line goes out through all the earth Their words unto the ends of the world In the shamayim He pitched a tent for the sun Who comes as a bridegroom out of his chamber And rejoices as a strong man to run his course He rises from the end of the heavens His circuit reaches to the other end And nothing is hidden from his heat Psalm 19:1–6; Romans 1:20; Romans 10:18; Job 38:7; Psalm 8:1 Movement II — Torah (Psalm 19:7–11) [verse] The Torah of the LORD is perfect Reviving the soul The testimony of the LORD is sure Making wise the simple The precepts of the LORD are right Rejoicing the heart The commandment of the LORD is pure Enlightening the eyes The fear of the LORD is clean Enduring forever The judgments of the LORD are true And righteous altogether More to be desired than gold Than much fine gold And sweeter than honey And the drippings of the comb By them Your servant is warned And in the keeping of them Is great reward Psalm 19:7–11; Psalm 119:103; Proverbs 8:10–11; Deuteronomy 4:5–6; John 17:17 Movement III — Le-Ratzon (Psalm 19:12–14) [bridge] Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of my hidden faults Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins Let them not have dominion over me Then I shall be blameless And innocent of great transgression May the words of my mouth And the meditation of my heart Be le-ratzon before You O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer Psalm 19:12–14; Romans 7:19–20; Hebrews 4:13; Psalm 51:10; Isaiah 59:20
