Leadshine DM2C RS556 Concept

I've been playing around with stepper drivers that have advanced motion controls. They can be configured easily with a PC, have configurable inputs and outputs, and don't need any sort of controller. No step / dir pulses!!! This is a speed test - fast AND slow (at the end). This is just to test the concept. If you look closely at the screw towards the pulley, you can see thrust bearings that continue to spin and rattle. I only had 12mm lock collars and you'll see the pulley actually moving sideways creating a knocking sound. The magic here is there is no microcontroller! Only the driver that had paths configured via Motion Studio - free software from Leadshine and StepperOnline. The driver here is a DM2C-RS556 open loop driver. Similar products are the CL57RS (closed loop) and the NT60 from RIntelligent.
