The Frontal Plane Spinal Wave! One of my favourite spinal articulations. It is a movement driven from the spine to wave you side to side, like a seaweed in the ocean. You may be familiar with the forward backward, ventral dorsal/sagittal plane spinal wave. This wave is a good one to try and tackle after experiencing that wave. It’s an amazing way to open up the body in regions that may not be familiar to you. Due to this, it can also be tricky to understand and coordinate, since you can’t roll onto the wall like the ventral dorsal wave. In this video I show you some tips to help understand the motions at different parts of the body. Understanding how the pelvis, ribs and head can tilt can carry over to many other movements. Remember it takes time to learn, practice well and enjoy your movement! 01:25 Pelvis Leading Frontal Plane Spinal Wave 01:42 Head Leading Frontal Plane Spinal Wave 02:30 Pelvis Motion 03:20 Hanging Hip Hike 04:00 Tilting of the Ribs 04:41 Tilting of the Head 05:05 Side Flop Position 05:28 Pelvis led segmented wave 06:51 Head led segmented wave If you have any questions let me know.
