Rx Lactose NF 0.2 Gm Silica Gel Micronized 0.12 Gm Base G (almond oil NF) 3 mL Petrolatum 13.98 Gm Anhydrous Lanolin 3.2 Gm Dispense 4 tubes (≈21 gm) Procedure 1.Place 100 mL beaker on the balance and tare. Weigh petrolatum. Place beaker on the hot plate and add base G and anhydrous lanolin. 2.Melt bases together (with stirring) at 550C until solution is clear. 3.Using a grinding motion, triturate the silica gel and active ingredients in an 8 oz. glass mortar until evenly distributed. 4.Transfer the mixture into a weighing boat. Sprinkle the powder into the melted bases while stirring with spin bar. 5.Add food color and/or flavor(s) if desired. 6.Remove beaker from hot plate and set on counter. 7.Pour into molds as soon as you are able to hold the beaker comfortably in the palm of your hand.
