🔴 Live, unscripted search for novel cellular automata patterns.
A custom GPU pipeline runs MAP-Elites + evolutionary search across 50+
rule families (Game of Life variants, Lenia, reaction-diffusion,
SmoothLife, Kuramoto, crystal growth, quantum-orbital PDEs, flocking,
and more). Each batch worker mutates parameters, scores the resulting
behavior on alive-fraction, activity, structure, projected complexity,
and mutual information, and bubbles up its best discoveries to the
dashboard you're watching.
What's on screen:
• Per-worker rule, trial count, current best score, and elite-cell fill
• Live leaderboard of the most interesting discoveries this session
• Newest discoveries as they land
• System metrics (GPU, CPU, RAM)

• Engine: Python 3 + moderngl + GLSL 4.3 compute shaders
This is a research project exploring what kinds of self-organizing
behavior emerge when you let an evolutionary search loose on the
parameter spaces of dozens of CA rule families simultaneously.
