IN ANY FORM IS EVER USED IN ANY SONGS OR VIDEOS ON MY CHANNEL! Hello everyone, hope everyone is well! For my second song of the brand new year, I offer you a tale of a German Siren called Lorelei. I was reading about this mythical mermaid a couple of years ago and wrote a song about it. I'll give you some background on the legend, originally a water spirit or nymph, the legend was popularized by Clemens Brentano and Heinrich Heine, depicting a beautiful mermaid on a rock who combs her golden hair and sings a mesmerizing song, causing boatmen to crash their boats on the rocks. "Lorelei sat on the Rhine River in Germany, famous for a siren-like legend of a beautiful maiden whose singing lured boatmen to their doom, inspiring numerous poems and songs." I have now written another song to this beautiful blonde maiden of the sea. I wrote the lyrics first and then one day a few years ago in 2023, during the end of the pandemic, I wrote the music to it. It's mostly an acoustic number with a nice little riff to it. I played the Bass part on an Acoustic guitar and really tried to keep it simple with not too much production. The ending is very interesting because it's a bit of another song I was working on but I just stuck it on the end of this song. It seems to have worked ok? Chalie sang it very well and he got into the whole spirit of the thing. He told me he had visited the statue of Lorelei on a trip to Germany as a teenager! Then he showed me a picture of her that he had taken. How cool is that?!? Very cool! I worked hard on the video but sat on it for a few years, I think I finally put it together in 2024 but I just couldn't find too many clips having to do with mermaids or sirens or sea legends and such. So I had to use some clips from Pexels and Pixabay whch may have been A.I.created, I'm not sure, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to that stuff!! So I was torn on whether to post it or not. The song, I think, is very good and Charlie sang it very well so I decided to post it this year anyway. It's an original and I hate to have it go to waste. Lorelei is also Marilyn Monroe's charecter's name in the 1953 movie "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", her name was Lorelei Lee and it always stuck in the back of my mind as a kid. I've always loved Marilyn Monroe growing up, I thought she was awesome!! So when I needed a name for the song, my wife suggested Lorelei and I agreed and ran with it for a touchdown!!!! The lyrics are totally made up from all the stories I was reading at the time and I hope you guys like it!
