Use Poly-carbonate & PVC to make a window well cover that is superior plastic. It won't become brittle, cloud or break by falling icicles.
The commercial plastic covers that I bought clouded after being exposed to the sun and then became brittle and broke. I searched for a better material and found poly-carbonate. Clean the covers with a soft sponge, soap and water, they will look like new.
