This is a Bath Scoops Tutorial! I'm showing you how to make coconut milkshake bath scoops with skin-loving ingredients & rich butters that Make Moisturizing Milkshake Bath Soak! *Coffee purchases directly fund my sanity!* → https://www.buymeacoffee.com/creativebathlab RECIPE: 100 grams baking soda, 100 grams citric acid, 100 grams coconut milk powder, 100 dendritic salt, 5 grams titanium dioxide, + 50 grams [melted] coconut oil, 25 milliliters fragrance oil, 25 milliliters polysorbate 80. FORMULATION: Baking soda & citric acid are responsible for reactions in water. You may replace all skin-loving ingredients. SLSa slows reactions in the water. I added 2.5 grams SLSa to white mixture only to create foamy/lathery AND vigorous reactions at the same time! The titanium dioxide (TD) makes the water an opaque white - like milk! Use any butter or oil. Add less fragrance or omit it. Polysorbate 80 is an emulsifier, so I recommend it. DIRECTIONS: Sieve dry ingredients together. Separately melt coconut oil/butter first, then add other liquids, then mix it. Pour wet into dry and thoroughly mix everything together. Mixture should feel like wet sand and hold together when squeezed. Fill the scooper, pack it, make the bottom as flat as possible, then release the scoop on parchment. Add decoration right away (while scoops are still moist). Dry scoops 24 hours; they're fragile during this time. For packaging use a shrink wrap bag and added a label. Or add several of them to a beautiful apothecary jar. COMMON ISSUES 1. Can't get a scoop to form OR mix isn't holding together to form a scoop. Mix is probably too dry OR butter has cooled (#2); add a bit of liquid at a time (melted butter/oil) until mix starts to clump together and hold together when squeezed. 2. Scoops are falling apart after you've successfully scooped some. The butter has probably cooled; microwave mixture for 10 seconds, stir, then repeat steps until mix is warm enough (around 115-130 degrees Fahrenheit). 3. Scoops won't form OR scoops are breaking when releasing the lever. Probably from incorrectly packing the scoop; it needs to be full enough to form a scoop but not too full that it interferes with releasing the lever. 4. Scoops are sticking & won't come out. Mix is too wet; add a bit of dry powder (your choice) until the mix isn't so wet and no longer sticks. 5. Mix/scoops are expanding. Too much liquid was added or added too quickly; knead the mix until no longer puffy, add more dry powder and knead it until no longer puffy, or let mix sit there until it deflates. 6. Scoops just won't form. You may have a faulty scooper or a scooper that's not right for this job; my favorite scoopers are the single lever scoopers, like the ones listed below Shop my links & I get a microscopic "commission".
