Mary Black

Today’s Friday the 13th, so I figured it was the perfect day to release a song I wrote called “Mary Black.” The song is based on an old local legend from Chewton, Pennsylvania. I live about two miles from Mary Black’s grave, and one night a couple friends and I went to see it. As we were leaving, we thought we saw what looked like a casket along the side of the road. None of us were brave enough to turn around and find out, so we just kept going. It was probably an old couch someone dumped, but at the time it sure didn’t feel that way. Sometimes the best inspiration for a song comes from the stories and legends right in our own backyard. Hope you all enjoy listening to “Mary Black.”
