Topic: The BEBOLD platform – Australia Date: 26th November 2024 Speaker: Rhiannon Pilkington Over the last decade, Dr Rhiannon Pilkington has worked with Professor John Lynch to build the BEBOLD platform that contains 31 consecutive birth cohorts from 1991 including ~2 million children, young people and parents in South Australia. BEBOLD is a rich intergenerational data platform connecting information spanning health, justice, education, housing, child protection, taxation, and human services. In this session, Dr Pilkington presents how the BEBOLD platform has been used to inform South Australia’s 20-year target to improve early childhood development, and how joining up additional Commonwealth data creates the capacity for future monitoring and evaluation of the roll-out of targeted and intensive 3- and 4-year-old preschool places coupled with health and development supports. Rhiannon Pilkington is the Co-Director of the BetterStart Health and Development Research group, University of Adelaide. Rhiannon is an epidemiologist with expertise in translational research, data analytics, and linked administrative data. Rhiannon’s research focuses on generating evidence to support every child and family receiving the support they need, when they need it. - https://matchnet.sphsu.gla.ac.uk/
