The mechanism of the illusion demonstrator is visible through the back, adding another dimension to the presentation. It was built for display, with careful choice of colors to look more purposefully designed than it actually is. This thing was basically built from junk and scrap, and the design was strongly influenced by the materials I had on hand or which I could find easily. Everything you see was made from wood, board and a few small pieces of metal and plastic, plus some string and a few ball bearings from a pair of inines.
The thing looks complicated, and it's certainly the most advanced mechanism I have ever built from wood and scrap, but I started the project two weeks ago, without the slightest clue on how to make it, and finished today. I had great fun building this.
