This is an elevator conveyor designed for transporting cap-like parts. Caps can have two different orientations: open-side-outward or open-side-inward. As the belt with baffles ascends, it carries the parts upward. Due to differences in center of gravity, caps with the open side inward will fall back into the hopper, ensuring that only caps with the open side outward are delivered.
