There have been times when we have been denied what we want for one reason or another, and we often interpret the denial as consequence, judgment, or punishment. In the case of Israel wanting a king like all other nations, God gave them what they wanted and as it turns o, t giving Israel what they wanted was in fact, God's Divine judgment.
