ModelSwap - Convert BIM models to Native / Structured models
Convert 3D models into native elements with ModelSwap 🚀 ModelSwap is a solution that transforms CAD/BIM models into native or structured models, with two possible approaches: 👉 Solution 1: Conversion to native model Shown in the video as a conversion from Autodesk Revit to native AVEVA E3D, many other options can be considered. It is also possible to obtain a native model from IFC file, STEP file, Navisworks model... The applications are numerous: automatic remodeling of a 3D model from one software to another, transformation of point cloud data into intelligent elements, and more. Within minutes, you get a native model, and unlock all the functionalities associated with it: data linking, possibility of remodeling, generation of deliverables... 👉 Solution 2: Conversion to structured model Presented in the second part of the video, the approach here is more generic: use any model as input, such as a Navisworks model, and exploit the metadata it contains to perform a structured import into the target software. With this second solution, the imported elements have generic geometries, like GENPRI in AVEVA E3D, and are organized in the desired hierarchy with the desired attributes. If recreating native models isn't necessary, this solution allows you to easily structure the import data and assign metadata to it. 📌 In summary: - Depending on the need and the software involved, the approach may be either native conversion (Solution 1), structured import (Solution 2), or a combination of both - Almost anything is possible More information on: https://www.ingeloop.com/products/modelswap Solution 1 - Conversion to native model 00:03 Export structure from Revit 00:06 Import structure as native E3D 00:20 Export piping from Revit 00:57 Import piping as native E3D 01:09 Solution 2 - Conversion to structured generic model 01:42 Export model from Navisworks 01:45 Import model as structured E3D 01:53 #bim #cad #interoperability #aveva #e3d #autodesk #revit #navisworks
