Mother's Hand

"Mother’s Hand" is my tribute to my mother who gave me life and showed me faith. As a child, my mother was sick in bed, and Jesus came to her with the promise that she would live. That moment of faith carried her through every trial. When she was pregnant with me in 1966, she faced cancer but chose to keep me and then battle cancer. She choose to have me knowing her chances of survival were low if I were to be born. She prayed to God to see me grow, and He gave her strength. In 1985, cancer returned, and though she nearly died, the Great I Am kept her near. Through it all, she taught me right from wrong, how to live with love, and how to walk in faith. In 2006, I held her hand all through the night praying to take me instead, I had seen her last breath, and she had seen my first. The full circle of life she gave was done. It was time for her to go home. Her love was steady, her heart was true, and she taught me faith and truth. “Mom, this song is for you. I wait for the day when my journey is through, to feel one more kiss, one more hug, to laugh and to play like we always loved. Where there is no first and no last, only eternity with the Great I Am.”
