I use RAM Mounts for almost all of my needs.
For my 2014 Victory Cross Country Tour I used the RAP-B-149U assembly to hold my Garmin Nuvi GPS.
After 3-1/2 years I must have gone down a really rough road and it seems the ball mount became loose.
I switched it to the much more beefier RAM-B-408-75-1U aluminum mount for handlebars between 3/4" to 1" in diameter.
This one holds very well.
