Mt. Monadnock | Spellman Trail

The craziest and most impressive thing about Mount Monadnock is that it is the 2nd most hiked mountain in the WORLD! Although it only rises 3,166 feet above sea level, the reason it holds that title is that it offers the feeling of an actual high peak experience. Monadnock's bare, isolated, and rocky summit is what draws people to it from all over the country. This has been a trip that we've planned for since before Christmas! We heard about the Spellman Trail and how infrequently traveled it is, especially in the winter, so of course this got our attention! There are a few other notable videos that document this route in the winter months, so we had a good idea of what to expect. We found one article that showed tons of ice and required us to carry an ice axe! Unfortunately, we didn't necessarily need them due to the warmer weather clearing out a lot of the snow. However, having limited to no use, we wanted to use them when we could.
