One Small Focus Can Make a Big Difference

When it comes to writing a story there is a lot to think about: creativity, plot, spellings, punctuation, handwriting... and the list goes on. If we try to tackle everything at once we often set our children up for failure. It can't be done, it's too much. It's a bit like when the whole house is a mess and we decide that today is the day that we are going to tidy it up, we start with one room. We don't try and tackle the whole house in one go. So focus on one thing. Acknowledge the wins, what has done well and move on to conquering something different next time. Rome wasn't built in a day and it is unlikely our children will conquer everything in one go either.
