Ostheim - 80 ans libération

Einmal mehr hatte ich das Vergnügen im schönen Elsass an einer Sonderausstellung teilzunehmen, das ist immer eine besondere Ehre. Diesmal gab es den 80. Jahrestag der Befreiung des Dorfes Ostheim nahe Colmar zu feiern, wozu der örtliche Modellbau-Verein "CAMO" eingeladen hatte. Ich schloss mich als Aussteller meinen Freunden vom französischen Club "A.M.I." an. Ostheim wurde im Winter 1944/45 im Laufe von 51 Kampftagen stark zerstört. Inmitten des Ortes ließ man bewusst eine Ruine stehen, um an diese schlimme Zeit zu erinnern. Umso wichtiger war es mir an der Ausstellung als Deutscher teilzunehmen, was vom Veranstalter und den Mitausstellern zu meiner Freude auch entsprechend gewürdigt wurde. Es ist ein Geschenk unserer Zeit, solchen Ereignissen heute gemeinsam gedenken zu können. Wie auch schon im November in Molsheim erregte die Veranstaltung großes Interesse bei den Einwohnern der Gegend, woran die echten Militärfahrzeuge und Darsteller in historischen Uniformen, welche sich entlang der Straße vor der Ausstellungshalle postiert hatten, großen Anteil hatten. Ich finde es immer schön zu beobachten, wie im Ausland solche lokalen Events stehts auf viele Besucher zählen können. Wenn etwas geboten ist im Ort, dann geht man auch gerne hin! So durften wir Modellbauer unsere Werke einem breiten Publikum präsentieren. Das Thema der Ausstellung war ganz allgemein der Zweite Weltkrieg, wobei der Fokus natürlich auf den Kämpfen im Elsass lag. Obwohl von begrenztem Umfang, so war die Ausstellung doch sehr abwechslungsreich und mit wundervollen Modellen bestückt, wie ihr in diesem Video selbst sehen könnt. Ich habe meine Zeit dort jedenfalls sehr genossen und dank der zahlreichen geknüpften Kontakte werde ich bestimmt wieder einmal ins Elsass zu einer Ausstellung fahren. This time the celebrations commemorated the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the village Ostheim near Colmar, the local model club "CAMO" hosted the show. I was allowed to accompany my French friends of the club "A.M.I.". Ostheim suffered a lot of damage in the course of 51 days of battle during the winter of 1944/45. In the centre of the village a part of a ruin serves as a memorial of those horrible times. It was of great importance to me, as a German, to take part in this event, to my joy it was greatly appreciated by the organizing team and the fellow exhibitors. It is a gift of our time to be able to commemorate those historic events together. Just like in November at Molsheim the event attracted a lot of attention by the locals, the real military vehicles and reenactors in historic uniforms, who took position along the road infront of the show venue, were the best advertisement. I always love it to see how such local events always attract a lot of visitors. If there is an event in the village, then people go and attend! Therefore we scale modellers were able to present our work to a broad audience. The subject of the show was the Second World War in general with a focus on the battles in Alsace of course. Although the show was really small it was eclectic and filled with wonderful models, as you can probably see yourself in this video. I certainly enjoyed my time there a lot and thanks to all the new contacts i established there i will probably have more chances to attend model shows in Alsace in the future.
