Parallel parking
This video shows how I would do a parallel park if asked to do one on a test. I'm doing this in an automatic car. firstly get the car into drive, check around and then indicate to move out and final check and release the parking break. As I move out I would then apply a left signal whilst getting the car into position ( between half a door and up to a door away for the parked car ) and keep applying the signal if it comes off whilst I'm positioning the car. Once I'm happy with the position I would put the car in reverse to help those behind understand what I intend to do next. I would look around and if it is safe I would reverse in a straight line until I could see in the back left window that I had just passed the back of the parked car. I would then look around again as this is where this manoeuvre could be dangerous to passing traffic and it it was safe I would release the brake a little ( keeping the car nice and slow ) and steering briskly on the first turn (1 turn) will help to bring the back of the car in towards the kerb quickly. On the second turn (2 turns) I would steer the first turn briskly then use the second turn to make any adjustments needed. Once I had got the car reasonably close and fairly parallel I would apply the handbrake and put the car in park. #parking #parallelparking #reversing
