Pear Glaze
Techniques are designed to help expand your abilities. In this episode you’ll learn how to make most juices into a glaze. As shared in the Faux Pear 75 video, one of the options was using pear nectar and ways to use the left over nectar was given. One being making this, Pear Glaze. Here’s what you will need: Ingredients: 10-12 oz Pear Nectar or juice 1/2-1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (or other pepper) 1 Dried Bay Leaf Salt to Taste Instructions: In small skillet, addd pear nectar, red pepper flakes & bay leaf, turn heat to med-high to high. Bring to boil & cook until reduced, stirring occasionally. Lower heat if splashing is occurring. When bubbles go from big to smaller start checking thickness. Using a spoon/spatula, coat spoon, using finger swipe a line down. If line disappears quickly, continue to reduce. If line disappearing slowly, and thicken to your liken, remove from heat , add salt to taste. Use to glaze protein or vegetables of choice. Here’s to pears showing up in more dishes! Enjoy!
