Sis. Beverly Martin First Church Charlotte Stay Connected, Women's Bible Study What is Pentecost? Pentecost was celebrated in the Old Testament also called the Feast of Harvest or the Feast of Weeks. Pentecost happened after the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. We currently live in the church age. Pentecost always was celebrated in May or early June because it coincided with the wheat harvest. The Messiah Jesus Christ mentioned the harvest of the wheat and the Lord said that unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, but if it dies. The Word of God is timeless, so we should ask God to show us what He wants us to know. When we are born again, we never hunger or thirst in the Spirit. Pentecost brings unity. The wind is something we can't see, but can see its effects, much like the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit not only comforts us, but empowers us to do God's will and mission. The fall of Eve was due to deception so we should always seek truth. The Holy Spirit will lead us to truth. The only holiness within us is Jesus Christ trough the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us to overcome our own humanity. Ask God, what does the Holy Spirit want to do through me?
