Our Battle with Temptation

Pastor Don Dixon First Church Charlotte House to House Bible Study Matt. 4:1-11 When public figures fall to temptation there is usually a public outcry. Messiah said that whoever is without sin can cast the first stone to the transgressor. Temptation not only comes to our flesh, but also success and other ways. It was during the temptation that Messiah had in the wilderness had to do with the power that was given him to do His task given by God. The struggle that Messiah had will shows us the types of temptations that we will also have. The decisive battle with temptation starts from within us. We fight first in our hearts and minds. It is conceived in our minds first. There is no sin in being tempted, the sin happens when we act upon it. The battle with temptation moves us to make a choice. As the Bible tells, we know the difference between good and evil. Each day we must choose to do the right thing. Each day we are morally confronted with temptations. There is a terrible progression after giving into temptations. It is easier to fall to the temptation after giving into once. The message of the Bible is that even though we fall, God doesn't stop loving us.
