What To Do When We Are Tempted

Pastor Don Dixon First Church Charlotte House to House Bible Study Matt. 4:7-11 What do we do while we are being tempted? Sometimes we are tempted when we are alone or lonely. We can be tempted by media, social media and things within us. We would do well by having a plan in advance. We have all been tempted. Rom 7:15 As Paul wrote, we sometimes do what we don't want to do. The devil attacked Messiah's flesh, His social pride, and to be freed from Rome. We want to see God work demonstrably instead of what He has already done The Word of God was Messiah's defense from the temptations. We sometimes act irresponsibly and want God to save us from the irresponsibly. What we make most important in our lives has become our god, and we then become idol worshippers. To fight temptation like Messiah did we must be grounded in the Word of God just as Messiah did. In baptism in Jesus name the Scripture says that we will receive everything the Jesus has received and sharers in all of His blessings. We are buried with Christ in baptism. The Lord has given us His authority, and nothing can hurt us. Whatever Jesus Christ has overcome, we can also overcome.
