You always want to zcb spec the melee phase.
Make sure you place a spike on one of the close tiles near muspah before it centers itself, this allows you to easily go for the smite skip.
Muspah switches its style every 100 HP on the range phase, 80 HP on the melee phase. Use this knowledge to pre-switch your gear.
