Pianono

Pianono is a Filipino Swiss Roll or Jelly Roll. It is a sponge cake filled with magarine and sugar with or without condensed milk and rolled. They can be one big roll or several small bite-sized ones. The modern version of the pianono comes in different flavors and colors. Pianono, are sweet and savory pastries. They originated from the Philippines Spanish and colonial influence. It was named about Pope Pius IX whose Spanish name was Pio Nono. I grew up eating pianono. I loved the flavors of the margarine and the sugar. Those memories were part of the very simple pleasures of life! I have many recipes to share with you.
