Place-based working
Everyone has the right to take part, volunteer and enjoy the benefits of physical activity and sport. But their ability to is influenced by lots of different things like their personal circumstances and the environment and opportunities around them. Inequalities exist, some communities, especially those in low-income areas, may have less opportunities to be more active and need more support. Place-based working is a movement to tackle these inequalities. It brings together the people that can influence and deliver change and local people to get to the heart of what’s really needed to tackle inactivity. This video explains placed-based working and provides valuable ideas on how organisations delivering physical activity and sport can get involved.
