It isn't pulling any punches with opener "Pop & Scratch", but by the end it concludes with the methodical 7 minute finale "Get Beat, Get Up". No two tracks are exactly alike, but the common thread you will hear is a unique blend of propulsive & intricate hip-hop inspired rhythms with cheerful, catchy melodies that go for a percussion forward, "less is more" approach. Despite being somewhat cold on the surface, every drum hit tastes like a burst of life. The wildly expressive beats are accompanied by a variety of ideas that showcase the album's vivid personality. Whether it be uncommon time signatures, eccentric samples, uplifting mood-brighteners, or a song from a fictional animal band, you're always left wondering what will come next.
